理工学部のAntara Ghosh博士は、2025年9月3日から5日に信州大学で開催された第63回日本油化学会年会で、研究課題「Studies on Astaxanthin Geometrical Isomers: Progress in Analysis, Isomerization, Extraction, and Formulation」が高く評価され、Selected Lecture Award を受賞しました。本研究では、カロテノイドの一種であるアスタキサンチンを対象に、シス-トランス異性体の分析技術、環境負荷の少ない超臨界二酸化炭素によるシス異性化技術、さらにシス型を含むリポソーム製剤の開発を行いました。そして、シス型アスタキサンチンの機能性食品?化粧品?医薬品分野への応用可能性を示しました。独創性と学術的意義が認められ、今回の受賞につながりました。

Antara Ghosh, a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Meijo University, received the Selected Lecture Award at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Oil Chemists’ Society, held at Shinshu University from September 3 to 5, 2025. Her research project, “Studies on Astaxanthin Geometrical Isomers: Progress in Analysis, Isomerization, Extraction, and Formulation” was highly evaluated. In this study, she focused on astaxanthin, a carotenoid, and developed analytical techniques for E/Z-isomers, an environmentally friendly Z-isomerization method using supercritical carbon dioxide, and liposomal formulations containing the Z-isomers. These achievements demonstrated the potential applications of astaxanthin Z-isomers in the fields of functional foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. The originality and academic significance of the work were recognized, leading to this award.
